There is no magic stick to increase download speed but in this topic i will try to give you the best ways to boost your download speed to maximum value

1- Change setting for Internet Download Manger (IDM)

Internet Download Manager is one of best downloading accelerators. According to its developer, IDM can increase your download speed by up to five times! However, if for some reason, you still need the download speed to be even faster, it’s possible to increase the speed of file transfers by tweaking the software’s configurations to optimize your Internet bandwidth.

* Use high speed connection in “Options > Connection”

* Increase the “Default max. Connection number”
go to the “Options” tab, click on the “Connection” tab, and change the “Default max. conn. number” from 8 to 16. Click on “OK.”

* Turn off the “Speed Limiter.”
go to the Download menu in the menu bar, click on the “Speed Limiter” tab, and select “Turn off.”

4- Clear your DNS cache

Your DNS cache stores the locations (IP addresses) of webservers that contain pages which you have recently viewed. If the location of the web server changes before the entry in your DNS cache updates, you can no longer access the site.

If you encounter a large number of HTML 404 error codes, you may need to clear your DNS cache. After you clear your DNS cache, your computer will query nameservers for the new DNS information.

Windows® 8

To clear your DNS cache if you use Windows 8, perform the following steps:

Press Win+X to open the WinX Menu.
Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.

Run the following command:
ipconfig /flushdns

If the command succeeded, the system returns the following mesage:
Windows IP configuration successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

Windows 7

To clear your DNS cache if you use Windows 7, perform the following steps:

Click the Start button.
Enter cmd in the Start menu search text box.
Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.

Run the following command and press Enter:
ipconfig /flushdns

If the command succeeds, the system returns the following output:
Windows IP configuration successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

Windows XP, 2000, or Vista®

To clear your DNS cache if you use Windows XP, 2000, or Vista®, perform the following steps:

Click the Start button.
On the Start menu, click Run….
If you do not see the Run command in Vista, enter run in the Search bar.

Run the following command in the Run text box:
ipconfig /flushdns

If the command succeeds, the system returns the following output:
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

MacOS® 10.10

To clear your DNS cache if you use MacOS X version 10.10, perform the following steps:

Click Applications.
Click Utilities.
Click the Terminal application.

Run the following command:
sudo discoveryutil mdnsflushcache

If the command succeeds, the system does not return any output.

Warning:

To run this command, you must know the computer’s Admin account password.

MacOS 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9

To clear your DNS cache if you use MacOS X version 10.7, 10.8, or 10.9, perform the following steps:

Click Applications.
Click Utilities.
Double-click the Terminal application.

Run the following command:
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder

If the command succeeds, the system does not return any output.

Warning:

To run this command, you must know the computer’s administrator account password.

MacOS 10.5 and 10.6

To clear your DNS cache if you use MacOS X version 10.5 or 10.6, perform the following steps:

Click Applications.
Click Utilities.
Double-click the Terminal application.
Run the following command:

sudo dscacheutil -flushcache

If the command was successful, the system does not return any output.

5- Close any open programs you do no need when downloading. This will free up your computer’s resources to better handle the data transfer. If possible, have your computer download the files you need while you are away from the computer.

6- Download only the files you really want first and start other downloads later. The more files you download simultaneously, the slower the files download.

7- Try downloads at different times of the day. The more people who are downloading the same file, the slower the file downloads for everyone. If you are experiencing a slow download, try it at a different time of day when fewer people might be trying to download the same file.

8- Check with your Internet service provider about Internet connection options. The speed of your Internet connection is the most significant variable to your download speed. If you have dial-up Internet access, consider upgrading to a Direct Service Line (DSL) or a cable connection. Even if you already have cable, your Internet service provider may have faster cable services available.

9- Use Full Internet Bandwidth

* Click on Start button and type gpedit.msc and press enter.
* Double click the Computer Configuration
* Double click Administrative T
* Double Click Network
* Double Click QoS Packet Scheduler.
* Double click Limit reservable bandwidth
* Click on Enabled. Then change Bandwidth Limit(%) to 0 (zero), Then Click OK

10- Increase number of connected peers in torrent download

* Options >> Preference >> Bandwidth >> Number of connection and set it all to more than 500
